Kendama Contest

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Today was a fun day in Oregon, people are still skiing on the mountain and today some fun action went down downtown at Wabi Sabi (a small Japanese shop that sells Kendamas),

Turner helped put on a Kendama contest.  Lots of kids came out to hang out and compete for some special kendama prizes. I personally have never seen so many kids with Kendama’s in one place so it was a fun time to meet some of the kids who are hooked on Kendama.

About 30 kids entered the contest, there was beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories.  The Local Media was very interested in the new little crafty toy.  The newspaper did an article on the little shop Wabi Sabi and the KOHD news was there to get a story for the 6 o’clock news.  You can check it out here!

The local news came out to cover the event.

Food vendors were out for the event

The game, similar to HORSE played in basketball, elimination rounds were had until the winner was determined

POOR BOYZ MEGA SHOOT

So there are alot of pros in Bend Oregon right now for the Poor Boyz Mega shoot.  Sammy Carlson and I have hit a few features together.  I have not skied with him much since Booter Crunk so it was fun to session a few features with him before things get real hectic here in Oregon.

P.S. I painted my poles purple, then they broke.

I was told by a wise man, not to bring your sled to a park shoot… it will be abused and used

If your wondering what that Transformerlike metallic contraption is… its a camera crane

No shovels needed with this hog

I am taking tommorow off because there is a Kendama contest at Wabi Sabi Downtown tommorow.  Come check it out, should be really fun, finally able to enjoy a spring day outside!

So far 25 kids have signed up for the contest.

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

I have been Improving my skills with kendama lately, and I put together a new edit, to keep those people entertained who enjoyed my first edit.  If you think my edits lack technical tricks than maybe you would be interested in Turners Edits he is a level above myself, I donno how he does it.  He is working on a new edit, whenever he has free time he is kendama-ing, which is always.  We went to this place in Washington where they have a Stonehenge Replica, it was a fun place to hang out and play kendama. If you are ever along the Columbia Gorge near Biggs, check it out.

Montana Museum With Saga

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Museums are fun.  Turner and I went to the the Museum of the Rockies.  This museum is full of real Dinosaur bones and the largest intact T-Rex Skull. The Museum is really entertaining, if you are ever in Bozeman it is a Must see attraction.  I thought I might have nightmares from seeing all the dino skulls but I think my dreams got better after seeing all this history.
