LineCatcher: The Event Goes Down

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

I was so happy to be able to compete in the Linecatcher 2010, from the day I got word of the event I was mentally and physically preparing for the contest.  I went into the day ready to attack, thinking about my lines, and thinking about what it was going to take to win.  With a huge cast of pros, Petit, Sage, Candide to name a few, the competition was heavy.

Results Linecatcher 2010
1 er Candide THOVEX (FRA)

It was not until my second run, when I saw Candide throw down a flawless run with a massive flatspin and cork 7 true tails did I decide to throw a double flip in my run.  I needed a little more air and I would have completed it but o well, I am happy I went for it.  I am looking forward to next years comp already! I cannot wait to come back and do it again.

It looks as though Tanner Halls thoughts on skiing were removed from the internet. Luckily I was there when he gave his motivational speech.  It is always fun to listen to Tanner’s thoughts on skiing.

Linecatcher Day 2: Viewing the Course

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Today was spent taking mental pictures of the Course and prepping the take-offs of the Kickers and Cliff take-offs.

We also went to a local ski shop and signed a poster for them and checked out the sweet Italian style helmets that are so so so hot right now, unfortunately the price tag was a bit uhm heavy.

The Contest is tommorow! I will be thinking hard tonight and picking out my line… so many options, what line to pick, we will see.

Some Boulder, CO updating……

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Another post of mine (which are few and far between i’m afraid, but soon i will have all the time in world because i will be taking school off and stopping my internship to ride for the season). Yay!

So 2 weeks ago I decided to partake in this rail jam in Denver called the Backyard Bang which was put on by Salomon. Free entry, $2,000 purse, why not?

Good thing that it was free, because I rode like an El Camino with mud tires and a 20in. lift on a road trip with nothing but potholes and speed bumps….Crappy. haha. Oh well, i had fun and ran into a bunch of friendly faces.

It has just snowed yet again in Boulder!! It is cold and rumors of more to come. Super awesome. However, like my blogging, my riding has been scarce. Too busy with things i can’t neglect and i need to go get some shots.

Rail jam photos compliments of Seth Hill.

Who likes Counting? Who wants a big Purple Saga Sticker?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I personally am a fan of counting.  Back when I was a kid and went to Chuckee Cheese I had to hand count my tickets before I turned them in for fun prizes. Know a days the kids can be lazy and feed their tickets to a handy Ticket Eater Machine, that puts their ticket amount onto a handy credit card dealio, that the prize dude swipes.  I went to the fun center and got lots of tickets with my cousins, and did not count a single one, I used the ticket eater machine.

So for you guys, your gonna have to count the old fashion way if you want this big purple Saga sticker. Comment the answers to the following 3 questions correctly, first person who does this wins, some of the questions might take a while, but it tis a race!

1.  count  the exact number of blogs that have been posted on this site (including this one), the first blog was posted by jordanharper on 05-08-09.

2. On what date did t.durtschi make his first Post?

3.  what category is the blog “Tim Durtschi and The Mic” located in?

GOOD LUCK

Red Bull Line Catcher

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I was invited to the Red Bull Linecatcher Event this year, and I could not be more excited. Julien Regnier invited me, he helped put the contest together. I heard about the event last year, Anthony Boronowski won it, and it looked like a fun time.  You basically ski a line, do tricks, be creative and its a sweet format for backcountry competition.  I am really excited to go to France, and hopefully more and more of these contests come around.
